A study permit is a document that is issued to foreign nationals to study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
It’s important to remember that your study permit is NOT a visa. It doesn’t authorize you to automatically enter Canada. Depending on where you’re from, you may also need a visitor visa or an eTA (electronic travel authorization) to be able to enter Canada.
